DISCOVER. LEARN. SUPPORT
Wild Watch is Bristol’s new citizen science initiative empowering residents to track urban biodiversity - starting in Victoria Park, with plans to expand across the city.
WHAT WE DO
Wild Watch Bristol empowers communities to support local wildlife through citizen science. Join our seasonal BioBlitz inspired events or explore solo - using smartphones or paper sheets - to record species in parks across the city. Every sighting builds vital data that helps boost urban biodiversity, inform conservation efforts, and connects people to nature. Together, we’re creating a living map of Bristol’s wild spaces, one observation at a time.
WHY WE DO IT
Wild Watch Bristol exists because every species counts - from the tiniest insects to the tallest trees. By turning casual observations into scientific data, we uncover which species thrive, which need help, and where habitats require a little more help.
We love to see communities come together to connect with each other and their local nature.
COMMUNITY ACTION MATTERS
Communities develop and support each other through hands on monitoring and fun nature events. Local advocates help shape their green spaces, create wildlife friendly habitats and celebrate their successes along the way.
Every logged sighting does double duty: it builds scientific understanding while reconnecting us as individuals to Bristol’s green spaces.
When neighbours share findings and insights, they’re not just observing nature - they’re becoming its most powerful allies.
WHAT NEXT?
We're launching Wild Watch with events across Bristol, starting in Victoria Park (BS3). Your observations will help us map the city's biodiversity, revealing where wildlife thrives and where it needs support. This data will directly guide actions, from planting pollinator-friendly flowers to protecting crucial habitats, making our parks wilder, healthier, and more resilient.
